You’ve got the passion. We’ve got the support.
Every day, you bring STEM to life for your students and community—sparking curiosity, encouraging creativity, and showing young people what’s possible. But we know that great ideas often need resources to make them happen.
That’s why DiscoverE’s Outreach Grants are here for you. With up to $1,000 in funding, you can:
- Expand your reach and engage even more students.
- Bring hands-on engineering activities to life with the materials you need.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana delivered hands-on STEM programming to 200+ K-12 students across 9 of its clubs. Through a strategic partnership with local STEM companies and institutions, a total of 20 volunteers facilitated engaging activities and career exploration sessions. DiscoverE activities Build a Bridge and Puff Mobiles were especially popular, and volunteers enriched the experience by sharing real-world examples and bringing fun giveaways. One volunteer shared: “I know that too many kids do not get opportunities like these and that is why I try to be present to every volunteer opportunity I can attend.”

Sanders Park Elementary School: 21 second-grade girls from Sanders Park Elementary visited the Broward County Main Library’s Creation Station for a hands-on STEM experience. Students participated in three hands-on activity stations allowing them to explore design, construction, and creativity in a fun and engaging way. Each student also received an engineering kit to take home, reinforcing their learning beyond the field trip. One 2nd grader remarked: “I want to be an engineer now because they get to build things and fix things! This was the best day ever!”
ASCE San Jose’s Younger Member Forum hosted an amazing Girl Day event at San Jose State University! 150 girls from local title 1 schools (grades 6-12) participated and had the opportunity to hear from a panel of inspirational civil engineers, take on a hands-on bridge building activity, and tour the San Jose State University Engineering Building. One panelist remarked: “It was fun sharing how many different pathways civil engineering allows us to design the built environment with people and planet in mind; that it’s completely on-brand to hop from one field to the other with curiosity leading the way. We live in a beautiful world that continues to need bright and caring minds, and events like Girl Day demonstrate that our girls definitely have a place in it.”
